In 2018, research was done in the center of Lubbock which determined a huge need for people to be fully introduced into a life-giving relationship with Jesus Christ. As Jason and Erin Owens began to personally experience this around their own home (located within the heart of Lubbock), their hearts began to stir for a fresh fellowship of believers specifically designed and located for the center region of Lubbock – the Hub City.
Through God’s provision, wisdom, and prodding, LakeRidge United Methodist Church (UMC) and the Northwest Texas Conference of the UMC agreed this venture needed to take place – providing direct support and backing for reaching people in the Heart of Lubbock, Tech Terrace, and Overton neighborhoods.
After six months of praying and discernment, God began to give clarity as to where this new fellowship would worship, what the core of this faith community would look like, and how to go about introducing people to Jesus in these neighborhoods. As time has unfolded, we have mainly sought to love the Lord, love our neighbors, and fulfill the
Great Commission, to make disciples of all nations, through one simple idea –
Now, our prayer is that you would join our story here at Hub City Fellowship, the same way we join in the story of God for the redemption of the world.
